Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Bwindi national park
After leisured breakfast/on the arrival at the airport, you will meet and greet the tour driver to Kajjansi airstrip to catch up your booked air flight. Then you will find another tour driver at the nearby airstrip will pick you up and take you to the booked luxury lodge in one of the sectors in Bwindi forest.
Bwindi national park is located in south-western Uganda and it covers an area of 331sq.km famous for homing the remaining mountain gorillas. Other attractions in the parks are the different bird species, tree species, and mammals like elephants among others.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community tour.
The day starts with heavy breakfast and drives to the park headquarters to be assigned with a gorilla group, you will trek. Also, go through the instructions to follow while trekking the remaining endangered mountain gorillas. Head to the impenetrable forest to trek the remaining mountain gorillas, and trekking takes 2-5 hours depending on where you locate the endangered mountain gorilla.
Remember, this park is the harbouring half on the remaining number of mountain gorillas. You will enjoy the beautiful creatures as they feed, groom their babies, play among others and also, you will spot several primates, bird species among others. After trekking, you will head back to the headquarters and be rewarded with a certificate for trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park.
After your lunch at the lodge, head to visit the Batwa community, with their culture that was formerly depending on the forest through hunting and gathering fruits. Enjoy their folk tales, hunting methods, taste their traditional food as you enjoy their traditional music and dances. Disembark to the lodge late in the evening.
Day 3: Drive back to Kampala/Entebbe airport
Travel back to Kampala immediately after breakfast where you visit several places on the way like Igongo cultural centre in Mbarara to experience the Banyankole culture. Then, another stopover at the Uganda equator in Kayabwe for photograph and souvenir buying.
The journey is rewarding as you pass through the Kigezi highlands, cattle farms for Ankole long-horned cattle, tea plantations among others. A drop off at the airport or the hotel will follow and this will be the end of 3 days luxury gorilla trekking in Bwindi.
