The safari involves visiting luxurious destinations using luxurious means of transport like chartered flights, private cars and boat. Also, it involves participating in luxurious activities like gorilla trekking, ballooning, boat cruises and also sleeping in expensive accommodation. It will take you to four interesting national parks with diverse wildlife ranging from mammals, tree species and bird species.
Day 1: Travel to Lake Mburo national park, stopover at the Uganda equator and do boat cruise in the afternoon
This luxury safari will begin at either the international airport or any hotel in Kampala in the morning. Firstly, you will be briefed about the tour by a professional driver guide and afterwards pack your luggage in a safari-customised and comfortable vehicle and immediately find your way to Lake Mburo national park.
This is the smallest savannah park in the country and well known for its impalas and long-horned cattle that you find grazing in the park. Other attractions mong others in this park are the unique bird species like jacanas, swam flycatcher, kingfishers among others, antelopes like Uganda kobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, impalas, among others, warthogs, hyenas and hippos.
You will stop at the Uganda equator at Kayabwe for refreshments, photograph and lunch and also purchase some souvenirs and later proceed to the park. If time allows, you will participate on the boat cruise to Lake Mburo to discover more wildlife.
Day 2: Full day Lake Mburo national park exploration
On this day, you will wake up and start your day with a game drive to enjoy more wildlife and after return to the lodge for mid breakfast. After head for horseback riding to explore the beauty of this park’ among others.
You will be able to spot bird species like jacanas, swam flycatcher, kingfishers among others, antelopes like Uganda kobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, impalas, among others, warthogs, hyenas and hippos. Later on, return to the lodge for your dinner.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable N/park with a stopover at Igongo cultural centre
After a leisure spiced breakfast, you will check out from the lodge head to Bwindi impenetrable national park the home for half of the remaining mountain gorillas.
These primates are amazing and trekking them on your luxury safari to the pearl of Africa is worth an experience. Other attractions in this park are over 350 bird species, mammals including primates like L’Hoest’s monkeys, chimpanzees, duikers, African golden cats and bushbucks.
A stopover will be at Igongo cultural centre for Banyankole cultural experience, tour the Ankole-Kigezi museum, and hiking the Biharwe Eclipse monument hill will give you a great experience.
Later proceed as you pass through the valleys and hills of Kigezi that are well terraced and find your way to the luxurious safari lodge in one of the sectors in Bwindi.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community walk
Wake up, enjoy your breakfast and after drive to the park offices for a short briefing that will take less than an hour. While here, you will be assigned with a ranger guide, allocated in a group of the gorilla to trek, and also given instructions to follow while trekking like no feeding the gorillas.
After penetrating the forest to search for the endangered species and other attractions that can be lucky to spot are duikers, numerous monkeys, birds among others. You will be allowed an hour or two after allocating these species. Trek back and your certificate will be available at the office waiting for you to receive it.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa community who were formally living in the forest and now outside the forest but their life story is so amazing. You will be entertained through their traditional music and dances.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park the home of tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector after your leisure breakfast and this can take a 3-4hours drive.
The transfer is rewarding as you pass through the valleys and highlands of Kigezi, Kigezi tea plantations and Bunyaruguru crater lakes. On arrival, you will set your eyes on the tree-climbing lions, take shots and enjoy your lunch.
Day 6: Kasenyi plains game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel
Wake up early to meet the early raiser predators like the hyenas, jackals, lions, leopards while on a game drive. Other attractions are the buffaloes, elephants, different antelopes and most common are the Uganda kobs, oribis, waterbucks and also warthogs.
Take an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel which is the neck for two lakes Kyoga and Albert to spot more game in their natural environment and these are the crocodiles, hippos, birds like the African fish eagle, kingfishers among others.
Day 7: Fly to Murchison Falls NP and evening game drive
Head to the airstrip after your breakfast and fly to Murchison falls national park in north Albert Nile region. This park is well known for its tremendous and world’s powerful waterfalls – Murchison falls that produce a rainbow when water drops in the small tunnel of 8 meters.
It also has the four of the big five animals minus the rhino that was depleted in times of Amin’s regime. The savannah sector of the park is well designated for game viewing through game rives and ballooning safaris.
You will take an evening game drive in the park to spot more of the beauty of this conservation area in the country. Later on, check-in the accommodation facility which is fascinating with a cosy swimming pool, a great view of Albert Nile as you spot hippos and crocodiles.
Day 8: Morning balloon safari and boat cruise along River Nile
Take a morning ballooning experience in the savannah plains with short trees of acacia. This is a breath-taking moment and you spot animals in the aerial view and after 2 hours of flying.
You will be served with a bottle of champagne and a banquet of fresh flowers. Later relax and prepare for an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile river where you will spot a number Nile crocodiles, hippos among others.
Be dropped at the bottom of the falls and then hike to the top to experience the beauty of Murchison falls. On top, spot the Uhuru falls that join Murchison falls to meet Albert Nile. Also, you will be able to spot the rainbow sign.
Day 9: Drive back to Kampala/Entebbe airport and a stopover Ziwa
Drive back to Kampala after your breakfast and if time allows depending on your scheduled flight, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to trek the white Rhinos and this will be a worth safari that is covering the big five animals.
Then proceed to Entebbe international airport to catch up with your fight back home. And this will be the end of the safari in Uganda.
