3 Days Murchison Falls Luxury Safari

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Murchison and an evening game drive.

After breakfast, you will meet the driver guide at the hotel resided and travel to Murchison falls national park which is located in the north western Uganda. It’s famous for its world’s strongest Waterfalls – Murchison falls traditionally known as Kabalega falls.

The park is divided in two sectors by Nile River i.e. the northern sector which is a savannah good for game drives and the southern sector that comprises of woodlands stretching to Budongo forest in the far southern exit of the park.

An evening game drive to the Albertine delta rewards you with beautiful scenery, mammals, primates like Vervet monkeys, baboons among others. On return, check in your luxury accommodation.

Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise on River Nile.

Wake up early and immediately head for an early game drive with well packed fruits in your vehicle. This is done in the northern sector which is savannah grassland, easy to spot several animals like the antelopes – Jackson heartbeats, water bucks, oribis among others, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, lions among others.

Some resident bird species here include hadada ibis, fish eagles, etc. The drive will take you to the hippo pool on albert Delta and on this spot, you will enjoy your fruits. After proceed to the lodge and be served with mid breakfast while relaxing at the pool.

In the afternoon, take a boat ride on river Nile that will take you to the bottom of the bottom of the falls. Enjoy the look of hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, buffalos among others. after, take a hike via baker’s rock to the top of the falls and experience the beauty of Murchison falls.

The view is rewarding and if lucky enough, you will enjoy the rainbow that is formed when water squeezes itself in an 8m tunnel. Also, where Uhuru and Murchison falls meet at this point. You will meet your driver guide who wills have crossed with a ferry and transfer you to the lodge.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo and fly to Entebbe/Kajjansi

After breakfast, head to Budongo forest for briefing where the dos and don’ts to trek the chimps will be explained to you. Some of the rules are to avoid noise, do not litter, don’t use flash cameras, among others.

After head into the interior of Budongo forest with the help of ranger guides to search for these primates. Other primates that maybe encountered are Vervet monkeys, olive baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, etc.

After the trek, which can take 2-3 hours depending on the location of these species, you will transfer to the Pakuba airstrip and take a scheduled or charter flight back to Kajjansi airstrip/Entebbe airport.
