5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Chimpanzee Safari

Enjoy the wildfire of Uganda-the pearl of Africa as you visit the two national parks and these are Murchison falls and Kibale national park. You will be involved in the indifferent activities like game drive, boat cruise, hiking, community walks in Isunga community with a spectacular feature of a cold spring and chimpanzee trekking.

Among other wildlife you will encounter include lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, oribis, waterbucks, bush backs and birds like the ibis, fish eagles, parrots, vultures, green breasted pitta, among others.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrive and transfer to Murchison falls

You are welcome to the pearl of Africa – Uganda! Your assigned tour driver will pick you from the airport and transfer you to the Murchison falls national park which is the biggest conservation area in the country with diverse wildlife.

It is home for the world’s most powerful waterfall and this is found on river Nile that divides the park into two parts which are northern which is a savannah area good for a game drive and southern which is covered by the woodland forest stretching up to Budongo forest

Day 2: Morning game drive, boat cruise on River Nile and hike to top of the falls

You will wake up and head for a game drive which will take place in the northern sector to catch up early raiser like the lions, jackals, spotted hyenas, leopards and cheetahs but you will also be able to spot other animals like elephants, warthogs, Jackson’s hartebeests among others. Find your way to the hippo pool where you will slice your fruits and then gaze out the hippos in the Albert Nile.

Return to the lodge for your light mid breakfast and then relax as you prepare for buffet lunch. Head for boat cruise after your lunch and it will take you to the bottom of the falls as you spot more schools of hippos, crocodile and many more. You will hike to the top of the falls from Baker’s rock, as you spot the Devils Cauldron and have a breath-taking moment. The driver-guide will pick you and then check in a lodge in the southern sector for your dinner and night stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park and nature walk

Transfer to Kibale national park in western Uganda after your breakfast where you will be allowed to trek chimpanzees. This is a home of 13 primates and among others are L’Hoest’s monkeys, Vervet monkeys, olive baboons, and red-cheeked Mangabeys among others.

It is also a home of other wildlife animals such as elephants, bush pig, leopards, birds like the great blue turacos, green breasted cook, weaver’s birds among others. In the afternoon, you will be served with lunch and then head for nature walks.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and a visit to Isunga cultural community

Head for briefing at the tourist information centre after your breakfast where you will receive instructions that will make trekking smoothly and these do not mimic, do not use a flash camera, no feeding animals, no making noise among others.

You will head to the forest with the help of the park ranger guide to locating these cousins. Trekking can take 2-3 hours and this will depend on where you locate them but you will be given an hour in their presence which will seem to be a minute.

You will, later on, trek back to the office and you will be given a certificate of chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park.

In the afternoon after your lunch, you will visit Isunga cultural community where you will encounter both the Batooro and Bakiga culture who live in around the forest. You will also take a community walk where you will encounter the Isunga cold spring an amazing cultural feature where you find water bubbling but very cold.

The locals believe that it is a healing point which was brought by their powerful traditional healer who disappeared from the spot. Later on, return to the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala and departure

Have a breakfast which will be followed by a transfer to Kampala which is a 4-5hours drive then lunch in Kampala and then a drop off at Entebbe international airport which will be the end of your 5 days safari to Murchison falls and Kibale national park.
